Rules of Thumb

  • One return per operation per period (+1 per amendment); every mining lease associated with the operation must appear as a Return Tenement with a production status.
  • Coal quarterly rows carry reporting_month (first of the month) — three months per quarter; mineral annual rows leave it blank.
  • Open-cut mineral returns must report waste rock/overburden with a unit; underground may report zero.
  • A stockpile variance beyond tolerance needs a comment, or validation fails the return.
  • Adjusting sales are negative-quantity rows referencing the original sale — never edit a lodged sale.
  • Quantities in tonnes lodge as whole tonnes; "kt" is display-only (see lodgement error GSQ-U-004 in the demo data).
  • A snapshotted declaration (DECLARED) must exist before READY_FOR_LODGEMENT.
